Larry Clark: Bijutsu Techo No. 729 (August, 1996)

The August 1996 issue of the art magazine Bijutsu Techo features Larry Clark. Published to coincide with the Japanese release of his directorial debut, Kids, the issue begins with excerpts from Clark's first photobook, Tulsa (1971), and its follow-up, Teenage Lust (1983). The issue then continues with an essay by art critic Kentaro Ichihara on Clark's influence on the 1990s art scene, texts by Norio Nishijima on photography and film, and Hidetaka Ikui on documentary photobooks, and a lengthy interview with contemporary artist Mike Kelley. The opening section also includes an interview with artist/photographer Andrés Serrano, known for his recent collaboration with streetwear brand Supreme, and a discussion of Hiroshi Sugimoto's Motion Picture.
