I have kept this item stored in a dark place since I acquired it. I tested its operation by inserting two size-D batteries into the battery box. It walked slowly, made sounds, and displayed an image on the TV screen. I believe this is a very fine, pristine example for a tin toy. The outer box has some scratches from when it was purchased, so please refrain from purchasing if you are concerned about this. The toy starts operating about 5 seconds after the switch is turned on after inserting the batteries, but this is not a malfunction. I cannot offer any warranty or returns for damage that may occur during shipping due to impacts, etc.
